Jules (Juliette Paxton) is Jess’s best friend throughout most of the movie. It is immediately apparent in the first few scenes in the movie who she is, and what she likes. You can see the difference between her and her mum, she is sporty, loves football and is the complete opposite of her fashion-loving girly mum. In the start of the movie Jules is already playing for the Hounslow Harriers, the local girls football team. It’s because of her that the whole plot of the movie starts when she invites Jess to her team. Jules goes through some tough times in the movie, with Joe and Jess and she takes it with anger.
Jules is a strong, independent character, who seems to have a bit of an edge. She’s fun, sporty and also a very good football player, especially with Jess’s aid.
Quotes:
“Yeah, as in male, Joe! Joe, our coach, Joe, man, Joe!”
“ Mother, just because I wear trakkies and play sport does not make me a lesbian!”
